About
Zoe Tidemann is a passionate drama and theatre educator, theatre director, emerging researcher, teaching artist, and actor whose life and work revolve around the transformative power of the arts.
Based on Kaurna Land in Adelaide, Zoe is currently the Head of Drama at Pembroke School, the Drama Australia Liaison Officer for Drama South Australia, and a lead teaching artist with South Australian Youth Arts. She is also a recent graduate of the Master of Fine Arts Cultural Leadership degree at NIDA.
Zoe’s extensive experience spans drama and theatre education, research, advocacy, theatre direction, theatre-making, acting and performance, youth arts, theatre for young people, and arts and cultural leadership. She regularly shares her expertise as a researcher, educator and teaching artist at conferences, including Flourish, the International Drama New Zealand Drama Australia Conference (Wellington, 2024), Leading Creative Schools with the CREATE Centre (Sydney, 2024), Antidote, the National Drama Australia Conference (Newcastle, 2023) and the Drama Victoria and Drama South Australia state conferences in 2022.
In January 2024, Zoe completed a research placement with the Learning and National Partnerships Department at the National Theatre in London, where she explored the value of programmes that connect artists, young people, schools, and communities.
All of Zoe’s work is driven by a deep passion for how the spheres of drama education, youth theatre, performance, performance training, cultural development, and professional theatre practice intersect, both in Australia and globally. And how engaging with arts and culture makes the world a better place.
Zoe aims to inspire, empower, and share her diverse skills and knowledge to advance arts and culture. This website captures the breadth of her work.
